چکیده

Abstract This article discussed on the status of heavy metals (As, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn) pollution in coastal sediment cores assess quality from Usukan Beach, Kota Belud. Several geochemical parameter analyses such as pH, moisture content (MC), organic matter (OM) granulometric size were performed to identify physico-chemical properties sediments that affect assessment metal pollution. Heavy samples extracted using aqua regia methods Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) employed for determination solutions. The results show changes acidic alkaline when heading inland seaward direction, with an average pH 5.6-8.5. fluctuate low moderately high, within range 4.9-21.9% 0.30-6.73%, respectively. are dominated by a sandy texture near marine environment change loam clay toward inland. hierarchical concentration shows Fe>Mn>Ni>Cr>Zn>Cu>Pb>As. Sediment is evaluated based guidelines (SQGs) indices geoaccumulation index (Igeo), enrichment factor (EF), contamination (CF), modified degree (mCd) load (PLI). indicated has only anthropogenic sources current study area safe

Assessment of Heavy Metal Contamination in Surface Sediment of the Darreh-Morad Beyg River

Background and Purpose: The heavy metal pollution and its fractionations in the surface sediments of Darreh-Morad Beyg River, Hamedan City were monitored for Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pb, and Zn in 2014.   Materials and Methods: Totally 30 surface sediment samples were taken from 10 stations with three replicates. The samples subjected to bulk digestion and chemical partitioning. The concentr...

Assessment of heavy metals contamination in Mamut river sediments using sediment quality guidelines and geochemical indices.

This paper describes the concentration of selected heavy metals (Co, Cu, Ni, Pb, and Zn) in the Mamut river sediments and evaluate the degree of contamination of the river polluted by a disused copper mine. Based on the analytical results, copper showed the highest concentration in most of the river samples. A comparison with Interim Canadian Sediment Quality Guidelines (ICSQG) and Germany Sedi...

Integrated Assessment of Heavy Metal Contamination in Sediments from a Coastal Industrial Basin, NE China

The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status of metal pollution of the sediments from urban-stream, estuary and Jinzhou Bay of the coastal industrial city, NE China. Forty surface sediment samples from river, estuary and bay and one sediment core from Jinzhou bay were collected and analyzed for heavy metal concentrations of Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd, Ni and Mn. The data reveals that ther...
